From Myra Hogan: As newly hired executive director of Hinton Area Foundation, I have exciting news to share with you. On Thursday, June 20, Hinton Area Foundation is joining communities across West Virginia to raise money to help improve our local communities. HAF's 2019 goal is to raise $10,000.

Donations received during Give2wv Day will help fund Hinton Area Foundation's Community Impact Fund, which provides funding for annual grants that benefit many organizations across Summers County ensuring an improved quality of life for all residents. Some examples include: Beyond Wishes Therapeutic Riding Program, Yummy Bags Ministries, and Summers County Public Library Summer Reading Program to name a few.

We need you to help us with these three things:
1. Mark Give2wv on your calendar for Thursday, June 20, send a check, donate at our website or use this giving link: Give2wv.org!
2. Make a donation to support HAF on Thursday, June 20.
3. Help spread the word! Follow us on Facebook.
We can't wait to celebrate the difference your generosity will make by participating in this event.
Sincerely,
Myra Hogan

The Hinton Area Foundation is a non-profit, community foundation organized to encourage philanthropic giving and to provide a common source for contributions to benefit the local community. In short, the foundation's purpose is to build a better community.

To accomplish this purpose, your community foundation accepts gifts which are deposited in perpetual endowment funds. The income from the endowed funds is dispensed each year to benefit the Hinton and Summers County community and are in support of educational, health, human services, artistic, public recreation, beautification, and other charitable projects. Only the income from these funds is used to provide grants. The corpus of the funds will stay intact to benefit the community forever.

The Hinton Area Foundation is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors, but it really belongs to the entire community. It is your community foundation.

The Foundation's goals are to leave our community better than we found it and to create a legacy for the future.
